Knee brace from Walking Mobility Clinics

Ligament Bracing

These knee supports and braces can be used to help patients having problems associated with knee ligament weakness, or following knee surgery and during knee rehabilitation. They are very helpful in providing an injured knee with stability and support.

Who Would Benefit? People with:

  • anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture
  • torn knee cartilage
  • sprained medial knee ligament
  • posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) rupture
  • patella tendonitis
  • runners knee

Arthritis Bracing

Osteoarthritis Bracing Research shows that these types of “unloading” knee braces can be very effective in reducing the symptoms of knee arthritis.

They work by improving the biomechanics of the knee joint and taking stress off the area of the joint that is affected by arthritis. This can improve knee function and delay the need for knee replacement surgery.

Ankle Braces

Ankle braces or supports work by providing physical restraint against excessive movement and reinforcing the supporting action of the ankle ligaments.

They can also be helpful in providing sensory feedback to the nerves around the ankle which improves a patient’s sense of where their ankle is in space without having to look at it known as “proprioception”.

Drop Foot Braces/Splints

In many cases, drop foot braces or splints are used as the first-line treatment for a number of different neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues by providing stabilization of the ankle and the foot. An Ankle-Foot-Orthosis (AFO) can be used to keep the affected foot off the ground while walking to allow a more natural gait pattern and prevent tripping.

When braces like these are required, they are custom-made to support your body. We use the most up-to-date and scientifically advanced components and materials in order to enhance your current level of mobility and independence.
